Song: Episod i Vallåt performed by Julia Isaksson
At the beginning of the collaborative project, we met with a handful of wonderful pianists and each discussed our ideas or themes, which lead to us eventually being put into groups with an assigned pianist. Julia Isaksson and her themes for the performance surrounded the beauty of folklore and magic. This was favourable for Nicola, one of my partners for this project, and myself as our main ideas surrounded similar topics to Julia's ideas.
We then had the opportunity to listen to the tracks that Julia had sent to us, and we decided on the title above, as we decided that it would work well alongside the animation. Afterwards, we were able to focus on the possibilities and ideas that could be created, inspired by the piece. We used the waveform images as ways to take notes, drawn or written to have a better understanding of the piece and how it could inspire us.
After we took notes on the song, we started on the ideas generation, which lead to the creation of moodboards and gathering research on Scandinavian folklore. I produced the moodboard below while listening to a recording of Julia's performance.
